Today's Wobbles of Wisdom on Gardening

Use eggshells to get rid of slugs
Crush eggshells and spread it around your plants to stop slugs from crawling up the plant and eating the leaves.  Slugs don't crawl onto eggshells since they can get cut up.

Today's Wobbles of Wisdom on Kids

Make your kids do chores and look away
Kids doing chores is every parent's holy grail. However, as a parent, you might also realize that kids doing chores actually means doubling your work, since their "finished" chores probably made things worse. For example, cleaning the table after meals. They might be spreading the mess everywhere while "cleaning", and if you watch them, you will end up doing 1 of 2 things: Take over, or criticize them on doing a poor job. Neither of which will help your kids learn to do the chores properly.

So what I find works best is this:
  1.  Give them a chore
  2. Walk away until they are done
  3. Check on their work
  4. Praise them for the fact that they've completed the chore
  5. Give them helpful tips on how to do it better next time
Notice that I bolded NEXT TIME?  Well the trick is to make them repeat the chores.  That way they will learn that it's part of a routine and hopefully (fingers crossed) that they will do the chore without you asking them!

You will find that suddenly there's a little less housework to do, even though your dining table might not be the spotless, or dishes might not be stacked perfectly in the dishwasher, but hey, I will take it!

Today's Wobbles of Wisdom on Beauty

The one thing you should never neglect is your BROWS!
It frames your face and draws attention to your eyes.  I used to think lipstick is the key but now I know better, brow is the key.  If you are too busy to put on full makeup, the one thing you should always do is your brows.  Colour it in, or go the easy route, use a tinted brow gel.

Today's Wobbles of Wisdom on Home

Microwave your kitchen sponge for 1 min to disinfect.
Whenever you notice that your sponge has become yucky, or anytime after you have used it to wipe down raw meat messies, just wet it, rinse out the soap, and pop it in the microwave for a minute. Word of caution, it will be hot, so it's best to let it cool down first. Also I do notice that the sponge has a tendancy to wear out quicker if it gets microwaved too often.

Today's Wobbles of Wisdom on Food

Put newspaper on the bottom of compose bin to soak up liquids.
If you have a kitchen compose, after lining it with a plastic bag, put a sheet of newspaper on the bottom inside the bag to soak up any juice/liquids from the food scraps and never experience a disgusting leaky bag again!
